Building upon a successful track record that includes constructing and leasing over 350 miles of fiber in two states, six counties and over 30 cities, six ports formed a publicly owned LLC, Petrichor Broadband, in 2020 to help solve broadband issues across Washington State.

Our members include the Port of Kalama, Port of Ridgefield, Port of Bellingham, Port of Skagit County, Port of Pasco and Port of Whitman County.
Our mission is to provide wholesale telecommunications facilities with the collective goals of:

  • Enabling communication services to unserved or underserved areas within member communities.
  • Creating economic opportunities, including sustainable community wage jobs.
  • Consolidating administrative and operating functions for efficiency.

We recognize the value of state-wide, regional and local open access dark fiber systems, and a consistent approach to technologies and business models throughout the state.
