The Port of Whitman County hosts the Snake River Family Festival each year to highlight the importance of the Columbia-Snake River System (aka Marine Highway M-84) to Whitman County and the surrounding area.
“The Snake River Family Festival is an opportunity for Whitman County to come together and celebrate our river system,” Commission President Kristine Meyer said. “Our river system supports a multitude of industries in Whitman County. We rely on it for freight transportation, power, and recreation opportunities. It’s not just a river. It’s a way of life.”
