Port of Whitman County office closes to visitors

Staff remain available by phone and email

Colfax (March 23, 2020) — To better protect the health of our community and staff, the Port of Whitman County will close its office to visitors effective immediately. 

Port staff remain available by phone and email during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Staff contact information can be found at www.portwhitman.com. Business operations will resume to the fullest extent possible. 

“We are committed to playing our part in slowing the spread of this virus,” said Joe Poire, Executive Director. “We have been preparing for the last few weeks. Staff tested working remotely last week. Our invoices were paid early. Several commissioners and staff participated in the most recent commission meeting fully by phone.” 

The Port will publish teleconference details with each commission meeting agenda online at www.portwhitman.com. Members of the public are highly encouraged to attend by phone. The commission meets next on Thursday, April 2.
