Paving along Wilma Drive continues today, which will improve road conditions for 17 tenants at the Port of Wilma. Original to the Port’s construction in the late 1970s, the local access road was approaching the end of its useful life. Improvements include reconstruction of some road elements, individual site access improvements, safety and drainage improvements and signage.
The project is expected to be substantively completed by the end of the year, weather permitting.
In 2020, the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board awarded Whitman County a $750,000 loan and $250,000 grant to improve the road.
The Port would like to thank Whitman County and CERB for their partnership and commitment to improving the safety of Wilma Drive for all of our Port tenants!
