Port Announces Extended 2021 Snake River Family Festival

Socially distanced festival will take place throughout month of May

Colfax (March 2, 2021) — Pre-COVID-19, the annual Snake River Family Festival would bring 500 people to Boyer Park & Marina on a single Saturday in May. This year, the festival will continue for its fourth year, but it will look unlike any festival of the past.

The 2021 festival will take place throughout the 31 days of May at Boyer Park & Marina, offering fun on the river while keeping attendees socially distanced. The Port will give away free ice cream and festival goody bags to the first 500 registrants. From frisbees and bubbles to river-related puzzles and games, the goody bags will contain activities designed to “create your own festival,” said Port Executive Director Joe Poire.

“It was really important to us that people could still experience the festival on the river, but do so safely,” Poire said. “This year’s festival will allow families to pick and choose what they want their festival to look like. If you have small children, bubble wands and some sticky ice cream might be your main attraction. Or if your kids are school age, a board game about the salmon life cycle and a crossword puzzle that gets you walking or biking the Snake River Trail could be a fun way to learn about our river system. And, of course, everyone loves ice cream – whether you’re six or 60.”

Boyer Park & Marina also offers attractions of its own, including an eight-dock marina, sandy swimming beach, 3.5-mile paved pedestrian trail, pirate-themed playground and overnight accommodations.

Registration will open May 1 on the Snake River Family Festival’s Facebook page.

Registrants will simply need to present their free admission festival tickets at the Boyer Park Store any time in May during store hours to receive their free ice cream and goody bag.
